LeBron James wrote his name in NBA history for yet another time. On Saturday, The superstar scored 40,000 regular season points and became the first player in the NBA to achieve this milestone. But many NBA fans were disheartened as at the end of the night, the Los Angeles Lakers lost the game to the Denver Nuggets.

While being excited for James to achieve the record, the NBA world was also disappointed by the team’s loss. Sports columnist and ‘Undisputed’ host Skip Bayless slammed James for celebrating his milestone while the Lakers lost the game. He also called out James for his fourth-quarter performance while the team lost by ten points at home.

Bayless also mentioned Nuggets head coach Michael Malone‘s statement regarding the Lakers after they lost to the Nuggets (0-4) in the Western Conference finals last season. The Nuggets have defeated the Lakers for eight straight games. Bayless brutally called out James for the loss.

Now you look back at LeBron celebrating his 4th quarter and-one (he missed the free throw) and celebrating his one 4th-quarter three … and you’re embarrassed for him. He and his Lakers lost at home by 10.

The Lakers were leading in points during the first two quarters of the game. Despite the Nuggets’ amazing performance in the third quarter, the game was however tied going into the fourth quarter. With two and a half minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Nuggets had their largest lead of the night and proceeded to win the game.

The Lakers have lost many important games against the Nuggets. The Nuggets and the Lakers competed against one another in the Western Conference finals in 2023. The Nuggets swept the series 4-0 and proceeded to win the first championship in franchise history.

After that, the opening night of the 2023-24 regular season was also between the Nuggets and Lakers. The Lakers lost that game as well. Last month, the Lakers unveiled the late Kobe Bryant’s statue. On that night, the Lakers again lost the game against the Denver based team.

During this season, the Lakers have taken the loss against the Nuggets in every game they have played. But losing record-making games makes fans more disappointed as the game does not end on a positive note.
