Moreover, he went into the hypothetical territory of matchmaking. Rogan weighed in on who’d fare better between a prime Muhammad Ali vs. Mike Tyson. He stood his ground on Tyson winning.
In the recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, he and guest Sebastian Maniscalco talked about the repercussions of Jake Paul (9-1) facing an unhinged Tyson. Tyson recently shut down rumors of an exhibition bout and means business. Despite concerns about his health, he is ready to return for a pro-bout. The 56-year-old podcaster justified his dismissal of Muhammad Ali, citing Tyson’s resolve.
I look at fighters, when they are in their absolute prime. And with Mike Tyson, I’ve never seen anybody better…Even Ali in his prime, even …when he was Cassius Clay. I never saw anybody who looked like Mike Tyson in his prime…you can’t maintain the kind of focus that was required to be this guy…it was just a matter of Tyson closing distance…[if] you wanted to see executions…anybody he fought looked like they were about to die…

His guest felt weird about his dismissal of Muhammad Ali in the age-old comparison between Ali and Tyson. However, Rogan stood firm.
Tyson (50-6) will be 58 when he faces the ‘Problem Child.’ Up until now, the consensus heavyweight boxing icon has had 44 career KOs. During his comeback exhibition bout in 2020 against Roy Jones Jr., Tyson moved heaven and earth to please the fans. As such, Rogan fears he’d be even more dreadful against Paul.

Paul is a steady cruiserweight and weighs around 200 pounds. However, he’s stepping up nicely to face Tyson. He even mentions edging around 240ish pounds during camp. Tyson thinks this wouldn’t be a mere challenge with a YouTuber-turned-boxer. He expects to face a different Jake Paul altogether, given the effort the latter has been putting in. However, Tyson knows when to put on his mean face and expects to win.
