Diego Lopes put on a show at UFC 303 co-main event by beating Dan Ige via unanimous decision. Lopes is currently on a four-fight win streak and is on his way to becoming the next big thing in the promotion. Given the hype behind the Brazilian, former opponent, Movsar Evloev has challenged him to a rematch. 

Movsar Evloev is undefeated and wanted to fight Aljamain Sterling in a much-anticipated featherweight bout. However, with delays regarding the matchmaking, Evloev now wants to fight Diego Lopes. In response, the Brazilian blasted Evloev for using his name to get attention from the UFC. Lopes, ranked #14 in the division also warned the Russian that he will take his position in the future.

Lopes had to fight Dan Ige on short notice after Brian Ortega pulled out from the fight at UFC 303. Despite having only 3 hours to prepare for the fight, Ige and Lopes gave fans an incredible co-main event. Lopes also mocked Evloev for lack of activity last year and suggested he stop asking for a fight.

Lopes and Evloev fought each other at UFC 288 in which Evloev got a unanimous victory against the debutant. However, since then Lopes has bounced back and is currently riding a four-fight win streak. In two of those four fights, the fighter also took home the Performance of the Night bonus prize. It seems like with no other top featherweight interested, Evloev tried his luck against Lopes. However, during the process, he did get some heat from Aljamain Sterling.

Aljamain Sterling made his featherweight debut back at UFC 300 and defeated Calvin Kattar in a boring fight. The fighter intended to call out Ilia Topuria for the championship bout, however, given his performance, he didn’t get the opportunity. After that in search of another top featherweight, Sterling was linked to Movsar Evloev. Both fighters had a back-and-forth on social media.

With Evloev’s latest claims about Aljamain Sterling ducking him, the former bantamweight champion couldn’t stop but give a response. According to Sterling,  Evolve is lying about him not taking the fight.
