Joaquin Buckley confused the world when he made an ambitious callout at UFC St. Louis. He called out Conor McGregor which confused many people including the top dogs in the UFC scene. Daniel Cormier, Michael Bisping, and Chael Sonnen made their comments on the incident. However, their criticism did not sit well with Buckley, so he made his own comments on X.

Buckley recently headlined the co-main event at UFC St. Louis. There he took on Nursulton Ruziboev from Uzbekistan. Their fight went the distance and Buckley walked away with the unanimous decision win. At the post-fight octagon interview, to everyoneโs surprise, Buckley called out Conor McGregor.
Michael Bisping said that Buckley was a โlegendโ but he went too far with the Conor McGregor callout. As for Daniel Cormier, he said that Buckley wasted his time with the worst callout ever. Meanwhile, UFC CEO, Dana White had a simple โnuhuhโ reaction to Buckleyโs callout.

Joaquin Buckley expressed his response to the criticism on social media. However, former double champion Daniel Cormier was not going to take the disrespect. He sent out his own response to Buckleyโs statement via a tweet on X.
Daniel Cormier did not back out from his statement. Instead, he doubled down and asked Buckley to shut up and listen.

Joaquin Buckley is 30 years old and just recently got on the UFC welterweight rankings. Buckley currently ranks #11 and is yet to climb the division rankings and fight the top contenders in his division first. As for McGregor, he has not made any statements to the callout just yet. It will be interesting to see if Buckley ever manages to step into the ring with McGregor somewhere down the line.
