Phoenix Suns 2021

The New York Knicks guards, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart have recently started a podcast together. In the second episode of ‘The Roommates Show’, the Brooklyn Nets Forward, Mikal Bridges appeared as a guest. While talking about topics such as getting traded from the Suns, Bridges also talked about losing the NBA championship in 2021.

Bridges talked about how during the 2021 NBA finals the Phoenix Suns underestimated the Milwaukee Bucks which led them to lose the series. In the NBA, the competition in the Western Conference is more likely to be tougher than in the Eastern Conference.

Being the Western Conference finals winners, the Suns did not take the finals seriously against the Bucks. He said,

We over here like ‘man it’s light, it’s the east.

At the beginning of the finals, the Suns started at 2-0, which gave them the confidence that East teams were easy to play. Bridges started believing that the Suns were about to win the championship just after winning the first two games. But the whole matchup changed from Game 3 onwards.

The Bucks won four straight games and won the championship in six games. Bridges added that he was shocked at the Bucks winning four straight games. The Milwaukee Bucks won their second NBA championship ever. And Giannis Antetokounmpo won his first finals MVP award.
