Jim Ross is one of the greatest and most experienced professional wrestling commentators of all time. The Good Ol’ JR currently works in AEW as a commentator alongside Tony Schiavone and Excalibur. As AEW’s new show Collision was set to debut on June 17, it was expected of Ross and others to mark their appearance. But before the show, Jim suffered an injury and updated the AEW Universe about it.

JR took to Twitter while stating his injury to the fans. On the morning of June 17, he unexpectedly fell badly, severely injuring his eye. The picture showed his right eye swollen and bruised heavily. His eyelid has turned black due to the bruise. The selfie taken by JR showed his gruesome condition, but the caption stated his determination for his work.

His passion for the work could be understood by his caption, which said that he was still heading to Chicago. It was AEW Collision’s debut that night, and it was a historic night for the company. Even the injury didn’t hold back Ross, and he appeared at the show. The WWE Hall of Famer eventually showed up only during the main event, but his presence was valuable.

Jim Ross made his appearance at the AEW Collision event, but only for the main event. His commentary sounded tiring due to his suffering from an eye injury. Jim had addressed his injury on Twitter the same morning. Even the latest update on it was given by him after the show.

The update stated his hiatus from AEW programming for an undeclared period. Ross started the tweet by owing an apology to the fans who heard his commentary that night. The fact that he apologized states that he even disliked the way he sounded during the main event.

The next line had him stating his leave for healing himself from the injury. The tweet ended with him saying thanks for the fans’ support. And at the very end, there was a sweet gesture of an emoji symbolizing him. The status of his absence should be informed by him, as he is keeping his fanbase updated. But the rumor states that his hiatus could last for months.
