Charles Oliveira only looks forward to big-money fights and doesn’t care about anything else. Oliveira is one of the biggest names in the lightweight division, and everyone wants to fight him. Recently, Mateusz Gamrot called out Oliveira, however, the Brazilian has no plans to move backward.
Charles Oliveira did an interview with Ag Fight and mentioned that he has huge respect for Mateusz Gamrot but doesn’t want to take the fight. According to ‘Do Bronx,’ he is looking forward to bigger opportunities at this point in his career.
With all due respect, I’m not looking behind, just forward…Everyone now wants to face Charles, everybody wants to fight whoever is upfront. It’s part of it… but I don’t think so. We have to think properly and see what would work out…It might be that forward yes, but right now I think it’s not what the moment is.

Oliveira recently gave updates about him being the backup fighter for the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight at UFC 303. The Brazilian has frequently discussed his intentions to fight the ‘Notorious’ for the big fight purse. In that case, fighting someone like Gamrot might not make sense for the fighter.
Oliveira lost to Arman Tsarukyan in a split decision on the main card of UFC 300. This stopped him from maintaining his position as the top contender in the lightweight division. However, the fighter keeps a good eye on the upcoming lightweight title fight.
Charles Oliveira predicts Islam Makhachev vs. Dustin Poirier fight
Charles Oliveira recently discussed his opinions regarding the June 1 main event of UFC 302. The lightweight championship match between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier has gathered various speculations, and Oliveira has picked his favorite.
While talking about his pick, Oliveira discussed the fight as a classic striker vs. grappler showdown. The former champion claimed that the Dagestani has a slight edge over the Louisiana native.
Styles make fights. It’s gonna be a grappler against a striker, I do think that Islam has the upper hand because of his grappling. I think he’s gonna be able to take him down, but Dustin also has really, really, strong hands. So we’ll see.

Oliveira has fought both Makhachev and Poirier. While he won against the ’Diamond,’ the same wasn’t the case with Makhachev. However, the fighter must look forward to his much-anticipated rematch with the champion and get his revenge.
