“Why do you deserve to get handouts?” Colby Covington spews CHAOS on rich ‘hypocrite’ Sean Strickland dissing UFC Fighter Pay

While it reads unlikely, Colby Covington has come to UFC’s defense with Sean Strickland critiquing fighter pay. ‘Tarzan’ is brash enough to run his mouth anywhere, on anyone. His latest tirade came out at the cost of preemptive strikes on UFC Fighter Pay. However, some finer details in his rant were seemingly more reasonable than paranoia. Fellow trash-talker ‘Chaos’ disagrees.

Before his UFC 302 co-main event, Strickland had lambasted fighter pay in his Fight Week Media Check-In Interview with Daniel Cormier. When BKFC’s Mike Perry scuffled with him on the same, the middleweight doubled down. He stated that $10,000 show and $10,000 win purses are “criminal.” Colby Covington claims the UFC pay changed Strickland’s life and defended the $10k show money.

He’s talking about the guys that just started in UFC, about the $10,000/$10,000 pay? He’s making a guaranteed $500,000 to 1.5 million in that range per fight…As a first-time fighter in the UFC, you haven’t made the UFC any business…So, why do you think you deserve to get handouts and get paid?

Sean Strickland most often calls Covington out for his apparent fictional persona. Now, Covington does the same for his fictional strain of thought. New signings have contractual binds that go for $10,000 to win and show; actual windfalls often vary. The ex-ATT wrestler, however, says if a new fighter goes 0-2 in their first outings, they aptly do not deserve full pay and fighter compensation.

More to it, the 36-year-old welterweight says Strickland has already amassed a couple million in net worth. So, advocating better fighter pay is moot. Strickland has added quite the value to the company; UFC has been pivotal in bankrolling him so far. Hence, Covington just swipes down his argument. More to it, the Xtreme Couture middleweight still has ways to go to expand his legacy.

Who said Sean Strickland isn’t attentive to details? Dustin Poirier recently made a Father’s Day gag, boasting that he was the last to hand Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler their losses. After the UFC 303 PPV withdrawal, ‘Diamond’ will remain their last blemish. Now, Strickland does the same for Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya.

In a matter of saying, Colby Covington is right. ‘Tarzan’ is too up the food chain to complain about a $10,000 fight purse to win and show. UFC 305: Du Plessis vs Adesanya, Live From RAC Arena In Perth, Western Australia, was recently confirmed. Now that Robert Whittaker’s title eliminator match at UFC on ABC 6 isn’t happening, Strickland is the top-running candidate for undisputed gold.

He dethroned ‘The Last Stylebender’ at UFC 293 to win his gold. He spectacularly went on a 3-0 run that year. A running fan gag is that Adesanya will always remain “a son” to Strickland, who got schooled in the massive upset. He’d later lose his title to Du Plessis this year. If he defeats the winner of Du Plessis vs. Adesanya yet again, he’d have proven to be the top dog of the middleweight division.

Specifically, a win over the South African would complete his retribution after the title loss. ‘Daddy’ Strickland does not shy away from gagging about that if he gets to “own” his middleweight sons.
