BKFC fighter Conor McGregor: Yaysayer or Naysayer?

UFC star Conor McGregor has been part of the BKFC ownership group for just a hot minute now. He’s already on the road promoting and bringing in the “McGregor” effect. Exercising his “needle-moving equity” into the workings, McGregor thinks BKFC will court more free agents – maybe even himself. His superstardom is already catching on, with media scrum members hilariously impersonating him!

Thursday, McGregor co-hosted the BKFC Spain conference in Marbella alongside bossman David Feldman. BKFC Spain will take place on October 12th at the Marbella Arena and will broadcast on Triller TV. At the presser event, Conor McGregor had quite a familiar response to a media availability member mimicking him.

Is that me…? Sounds like I’m talking..I don’t know [like] Who da fu*k is that guy? [laughs]

McGregor Sports & Entertainment officially became part-owners during the BKFC “KnuckleMania” 4 card. McGregor signed the official papers later. ‘Mystic Mac’ has already been keeping a good eye out on the company and its fights. He even hypes up every little snippet on ongoing cards. He celebrated Ruben Warr’s 6-second KO at BKFC Fight Night Pechanga last week.

McGregor, 36, does not have a current fight billing to his name while nursing a hurt pinky. He still has business left at UFC, but the Irishman says everything is possible. Throughout the presser, he and BKFC president Feldman highlighted the importance of free agency. The funny interaction proved that the fanbase at BKFC is already used to the “McGregor” ways. Someday, the roster could include him as well.

A BKFC Mac? Conor McGregor interested in being a ‘player-manager’ after UFC

McGregor was set to headline UFC 303 in the International Fight Week. The Irishman canceled all media availability and obligations due to a pinky toe injury. With the withdrawal from UFC 303, Conor McGregor is still rumored to face Michael Chandler when he returns.

McGregor even made headlines over the weekend, assuring Chandler that he has spoken to CEO Dana White over a sure-shot 2024 return. However, in his recent appearance on The Big Podcast with Shaq, White said there are no cemented plans for his return.

Of course, he is infamous for shelling out details, but McGregor has just two fights left in his contract. At the BKFC Spain conference in Marbella, McGregor hence indulged in the possibility of opting for free agency roles and crossing over someday.

For me, I have a bit of business left with the Ultimate Fighting Championship…But for sure, we have three lightweights up here on the dais and I have my eye on all of this. I’m not up here just as an owner. I’m a player-manager, I’ll title myself soon. I am coming to the end of my contract. I have two fights left. This is a very, very exciting organization here. How could you not?

A soon-to-be free agent, he sees the appeal in it all. McGregor Sports & Entertainment holds a minority interest, along with a partnership with Triller. However, he has always taken to the visceral — open-palmed violence of the fighting style.

‘Notorious’ would just fit right in; more to it, he says they have the money for it. Feldman said the promotion talked to Yoel Romero about signing him. He also hinted that another unnamed free agent had already signed and was waiting to announce it. Could that be McGregor someday? Time will tell.
