North West has always been a daddy’s girl when it comes to fashion! The young fashion enthusiast, known for her unique and out-of-the-box outfits, recently opened up about her style inspiration during a candid chat with her mom, Kim Kardashian, and in her Interview magazine cover story. In the interview, published on October 11, North shared that her dad, Kanye West, has the biggest influence on her fashion choices.
In a heartwarming clip shared by the SKIMS founder on her Instagram stories, North, who is just 11 years old, sat in a chair facing the camera as her mom asked, “What’s your favorite style right now?” Without hesitation, North replied, “I like streetwear and ’90s. Tyler, the Creator; my dad; me!”
During the interview, North sported an oversized black and white striped sports jersey paired with layered gold cross necklaces, a look reminiscent of her rapper dad’s iconic style. North is the eldest daughter of Kanye and Kim, who unfortunately divorced in November 2023. Together, they also share three other children: Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
This isn’t the first time North has shown admiration for her dad’s fashion sense. At the Kardashian-Jenner family’s annual Christmas Eve party last year, she proudly wore her dad’s vintage Balmain jacket from the Met Gala 2016.
Kim Kardashian took to Instagram to share the backstory behind North’s outfit, revealing, “You know North went through the archives to pick her dad’s Balmain Met jacket,” with a playful “Ifykyk” caption. North has always been vocal about her aspirations to follow in her parents’ footsteps and even dreams of starting her own clothing line one day.
In her recent solo cover story for i-D’s Fall/Winter 2023 issue, North confessed that her ultimate goal is to own Yeezy (Kanye’s clothing line) and SKIMS (Kim’s brand) and become a successful business owner. During her interview with Interview Magazine, North excitedly shared her plans to launch her own clothing line, proudly declaring, “Well, I am starting my own clothing line,” and revealing that she plans to name it “North West.” The future looks bright for this young fashionista with big dreams!
