Conor McGregor's popularity is above Bellator

Not a day passes by without UFC superstar Conor McGregor going into beef with someone. It can even happen with fighters outside the UFC. The former double champion recently participated in an online exchange with the current Bellator middleweight champion Johnny Eblen. As the tension rose, Eblen made sure to blast the ‘Notorious’ for his latest antics.

Johnny Eblen recently defended his Bellator middleweight belt against Fabian Edwards on the card Francis Ngannou headlined. McGregor watched the card and called out Eblen for his wrestling-heavy approach. The ‘Mystic Mac’ went on a rant talking about how wrestlers are ruining MMA by depending on control time. As expected, Eblen snapped back at McGregor in the latest tweet.

Conor went from “The face of the fight game” to “The disgrace of the fight game. He embodies literally everything I don’t want to be as a man or as a human. What an embarrassment. It’s giving Icarus.

Eblen also accused McGregor of using steroids to recover and taking a temporary gap from fighting to avoid the testing pool. According to Eblen, many veterans like Donald Cerrone are taking inspiration from McGregor to exploit this loophole. UFC veterans like Daniel Cormier have also voiced their opinion on this matter.

In a now-deleted tweet, Conor McGregor took aim at Johnny Eblen, mocking his recent title fight. Eblen responded by claiming that McGregor’s decline has led many to lose respect for him as an inspiration. He pointed to money and fame as the root causes of McGregor’s downfall. Despite everything, it’s clear that McGregor’s hype and influence remain largely unaffected.

Conor McGregor is still the most influential in the world of MMA

Conor McGregor was supposed to make his UFC return earlier this year; however, he had to pull out due to an injury. Since then, there have been no official dates for his comeback. Experts like Joe Rogan have mentioned that the constant delay in McGregor’s comeback might affect his pay-per-view numbers.
