The contentious calls that officials made during the New York Knicks‘ games have recently caused a stir in the media. You win some, you lose some, as they say. Pelican’s top player, Zion Williamson fouled Josh Hart with his hand and forearm, resulting in blood on the latter’s face. Remarkably, there was no foul signaled by the referees. This incident occurred the day after the Knicks defeated the Pistons in part because of a contentious non-call.

Despite Hart’s bleeding nose, there was no consequence for a foul, and the 28-year-old seemed furious at the officials for failing to call it. It happened less than a day after the Knicks defeated the scrappy Pistons thanks to Donte DiVincenzo’s tackle. People are now referring to this as a gift of karma.

Five minutes into the Knicks’ 115-92 victory over the Pelicans, Josh Hart drove to the hoop and made a layup. Williamson attempted to swat the ball away, but instead, he clipped the Knicks shooting guard on the face. Understandably, Hart was not happy with the decision, but when the video surfaced showing him getting fouled, the public’s response was negative.

With the way New York was gifted the night before against the Detroit Pistons, it would take a lot of bravado for any Knicks player to voice too many complaints to the officials.

Josh Hart’s game-winning shot against Pistons got fans stunned

The New York Knicks won 113-111 at MSG on Monday, barely edging out the lowly Detroit Pistons. Josh Hart scored the winning shot with 2.8 seconds remaining. Hart’s game-winning shot put the Pistons ahead by one. But from the perspective of Pistons supporters, there was an injustice. Next to have the ball was Donte DiVincenzo. He took it back from Ausar Thompson and turned it over. The former appeared to dive into the latter’s legs, and it’s possible that this caused a foul.

But the referees failed to signal it. After Brunson retrieved the lost ball, he tossed it to Hart under the hoop for a simple layup, which Hart made to give the Knicks the victory. The outcome of the thrilling sequence took aback NBA fans because the Pistons had a clear shot to win, but the final referee call may have given New York the advantage.

Now, everyone is sort of holding the Pelicans game today and their loss to the Pistons to their karma. The following game will see Hart take on the Warriors, even though their season has been pretty mediocre.
