Just two days after his devastating head-kick knockout loss to Alex Pereira, Jiri Prochazka was back at it. The Czech fighter returned to his unconventional training methods in the woods. Prochazka’s unique approach to fight preparation has long fascinated MMA fans. His latest post-fight routine is no exception.

The former light heavyweight champion shared a video of himself punching a tree in a wooded area. He revealed that he had been awake since 1 am due to jet lag from flying. This practice calms him and allows him to focus on getting better.

For most fighters, a knockout loss would mean extended rest and recovery. But Prochazka isn’t like most fighters. He wrote in the caption that he was going to rest, but was ready to elevate his training. His quick return to training has raised eyebrows in the MMA community. Some praise his dedication, while others express concern for his well-being.

The Czech fighter had previously worked with fitness YouTuber Eero Westerberg to hone his animal-inspired techniques. Together, they explored movements modeled after zebras and cheetahs. Prochazka even incorporated a move called “Wave Tail” into his routine. While it sounds silly, these exercises serve a purpose beyond mere novelty.

Darkness retreats are another cornerstone of Prochazka’s mental preparation. He’s spent up to three days in pitch-black isolation, consuming only water. He believed that this was a chance for intense self-reflection and pushing mental boundaries. His commitment to these practices shows a fighter willing to try anything.
