What can one expect when the pioneer gangsters of martial arts face off? Either there comes a phase where said fighters respect that they belong to a similar breed. Otherwise, they irk each other to the point of absolute violence. This is exactly what happened when tensions boiled at the tail-end of the Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal pre-fight conference. Absolute violence!

Yet again, when the two former UFC stars met, Diaz was in no mood for a ceremonial staredown. He will rematch Jorge Masvidal under boxing rules atop the Fanmio pay-per-view card. ‘Gamebred’ followed the 39-year-old off the stage while event promoters attempted to corral them for a coerced faceoff. Fans naturally joined in on the quibbling; soon, a massive brawl began with Masvidal in the thick of it.

I’m done with this whole press conference sh*t, I’m glad we’re here to promote these great fights that are happening, that’s cool as fu*k, but you know what? Besides that, I think my work here is done…No more press conferences until my next fight. Fu*k this ugly motherfu*ker…I hate to disrespect you [Campbell], but I’m sick of seeing you too…Square off with yourself, motherfu*ker!

The Stockton native had walked away from a face-off on the final stop of their press tour in April. He had also absconded from his supposed “bathroom break” during a staredown with Jake Paul. He even did the same with Conor McGregor. Masvidal took exception and followed Diaz across the stage. While they parted after some short barbs, others in the circle remained agitated. Soon, shoving and chaotic punches ensued.

The festivities and the fourth press event staredown began at 3:30 p.m. to the dot ET (12:30 p.m. PT); the commotion ensued way longer. Masvidal was visible in released footage and reels, escorted from one spot to another while the mob continued the brawl. The matter has gone quite viral.

Masvidal and Diaz are always down for a scrap on the streets if need be. However, ‘Gamebred’ takes issue with Diaz’s apparent diva demeanor. Initially, Masvidal was upset at Diaz for wanting to compete against UFC 302. The Team Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu fighter does not care to clash with UFC, given his free agency.

They were to lock horns in a 10-round exhibition bout on June 1 at KIA Forum in Los Angeles. On May 7, however, the news came of the shift, much to Nate Diaz’s disliking for a prolonged press event. Later, they met at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. The site of the press conference (and fight) saw a preemptive brawl; here’s what fans think:

Fans wanting to attend the Fanmio pay-per-view (PPV) card in July must shell out a whopping $79.99 price tag! Conversely, that sits more expensive than Tyson Fury’s clash with Oleksandr Usyk. With both approaching 40, fans consider this a public stunt to shove in more excitement for the “washed-out” fighters.

Consequently, Masvidal visibly moving away from the brawl supports the theory. After splitting from FRM co-owner Abe Kawa, the former title challenger went free agent with striking coach Paulino Hernandez. Additionally, Jorge Capetillo (red shirt), his current boxing coach, was brutally caught in the crossfire. While fans do love bad blood, mob violence on coaches is something different. Altogether, the matter has turned quite some heads.
