WWE superstar Shawn Michaels has entertained wrestling fans across the globe. Born Michael Shawn Hickenbottom, the WWE superstarโs iconic finishing move and kick-up made exciting matches in the promotion. PFL featherweight Yves Landu used one of his moves at the recently concluded PFLโs Bellator Champions Series 2.
Landu fought Jonas Bilharinho in a featherweight matchup in the second fight of the main card. Landu was on his back in the final seconds of the second round of the MMA fight. Surprising everybody, Landu did a kick-up reminiscent of the Shawn Michaels. After that, he did a back fist before his opponent threw a spinning backkick. Both strikes didnโt land.
Michaelsโ kip-up is one of the most exciting moves he did during his WWE run. The wrestler often followed the kip-up with his finishing move, Sweet Chin Music. One of the iconic instances of the move was when Michaels did it in his fight with The Undertaker at the 2007 Royal Rumble.
Nevertheless, Landu won the fight against Bilharinho via a split decision. The scorecard was all over the place. One judge had it 29-28 for Bilharinho, while the other two judges scored it 29-28 and 30-27 for Landu. With the victory, Landu extended his winning streak to 5.

The recently concluded PFLโs Bellator Champions Series 2 had exciting fights from top to bottom. Patchy Mix defended his bantamweight title in the main event, while Cedric Doumbe scored a knockout victory in the co-main event. Doumbe had hilariously walked out with a vacuum cleaner, trolling his previous loss due to a shard of glass inside the cage injuring him.
Doumbe also had an impressive fight, shocking Victor Wembanyama, who was in attendance with a movie-style maneuver. Even before Doumbeโs showmanship, Yves Landu had the fans at the edge of their seats as he mimicked Shawn Michaelโs iconic kip-up. See how fight fans reacted to it below.
Kip-up is easier to do in professional wrestling. However, to do it in MMA takes guts and skill. Interestingly, Landu was not the first to do it in MMA. Renzo Gracie had done it when he fought for Pride Fighting Champions.
