The Golden State Warriors and the Dallas Mavericks were going neck-to-neck in the final minutes of the game on Tuesday. In the exciting matchup, the two teams were not backing down in the battle of the Western Conference. Players were certainly getting competitive as the game was going back and forth in the closing minutes.

The Warriors had a seven-point lead with less than 30 seconds left in the game. But Mavericks came right back up cutting the lead to two points at 102-100. The game was coming extremely close in a matter of seconds. As 10.3 seconds were left in the game, Warriors’ Klay Thompson traveled but a foul was not called. Instead, to add to Mavs’ frustration, on the same play a foul was called on Dallas resulting in free throws for Thompson. This did not sit well with Mavericks’ Luka Doncic and he called out the referees for poor officiating.

The guard’s frustration was justifiable as the free throws from the play were the last points of the game. The Warriors broke the Mavericks’ seven-game winning streak. Given that the team had just begun to get into sync, Doncic’s reaction did not come as a surprise. Despite the loss, the MVP contender gave his all on the court scoring another triple-double.

However, the game ended in the Warriors’ favor as they were able to keep their streak alive. Being the 10th seed in the conference standings, the win will benefit the team tremendously. Mavs on the other hand, have recently climbed up from the play-in spot. But the battle does not end here as Dallas has a chance to redeem itself when the teams compete with each other again on Friday.

Before the player sealed the game against the Dallas Mavericks, Thompson added his name to the NBA history books. Known as one of the greatest shooters in the game, the 34-year-old moved ahead on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers list of the league. The guard passed Kyle Korver for the sixth spot on the list with 2,452 triples.

The record is certainly impressive as Thompson reached the milestone in just 787 games while Korver achieved it in 1,232 games. The star is now 108 three-pointers away from passing one of the bests, Reggie Miller for the next spot. Despite having ups and downs this season, Thompson is still holding onto his title as the Splash Brother.

Doncic on the other hand, keeping the loss aside, had an incredible game of his own. After being announced as the Western Conference player of the month for March, the star scored a potential record-breaking triple-double. After his performance against the Golden State Warriors, the guard has now matched James Harden for eighth most career regular-season triple-doubles in the league’s history.
