Itโs really pleasing to see LA Knight thrive in new wrestling markets each week. Wherever he goes, the crowd goes gaga over him. Not that long ago this year, he was left off the WrestleMania card. Even after teasing him for an involvement at The Show of Shows, WWE snubbed him at the last possible second. That caused an ire from his followers and the general sentiment strengthened ever further for the 40-year-old.
But now, heโs off to big things. 3 weeks ago, he qualified for this yearโs Menโs Money in the Bank ladder match. Defeating Montez Ford in the process, the self-proclaimed megastar was oozing in confidence. As far as his chances are concerned, heโs being looked at as one of the top contenders for that contract. Heโs the current odds-on favorite to unhook that briefcase in London next month.
Before getting there, he faced Santos Escobar this week on SmackDown. However, he suffered a humiliating loss at the hands of LWO member. After the match, Knight attacked him from behind until Rey Mysterio came to Santosโ aid. To avenge that beatdown, Escobar ambushed the self-proclaimed megastar on SmackDown Lowdown this week. Those combustible elements were joined by Butch.
These men swinged at anything that moved. It would be interesting to see whether WWE books a triple-threat match between them on the forthcoming editions of SmackDown before Money in the Bank. LA Knight is the only on-paper heel from the blue brand side of things for Money in the Bank. He needs to avoid losing these televised matches so as to garner that momentum before heading to the O2 in London.
Is LA Knight really winning at Money in the Bank?
Heart says yes but the head says no. Based on the crowd support, thereโs no better name than LA Knight at present to be crowned Mr. Money in the Bank. He can add more entertainment value to that concept than anyone else whoโs currently booked for the match. WWE too knows Knight is ridiculously over among fans right now, so why not cool him down?
At least by the looks, it appears so. Just when Knight needs to win matches every then & now, he just lost one this past Friday. However, Boozer 666, private WWE insider on Twitter, still has LA Knight listed as the top candidate for the title of Mr. Money in the Bank, alongside Damian Priest. According to the source, decision on the winner would be taken on the day of the show, with no swerves included whatsoever.
