Ali Abdelaziz manages all the fighters from Team Khabib. Abdelaziz is very close with almost all the fighters under his management. As such, he has often trained and is part of their training camps. Khabib Nurmagomedov recently joined Islam Makhachev‘s training camp. The arrival of the retired champion is a sign of a hard training camp, but he recently found a way to make it lighthearted.
Islam Makhachev and team had arrived in New Jersey almost two weeks ago and had begun his preparations for the UFC 302 main event fight against Dustin Poirier. However, Nurmagomedov was not with Makhachev as he had only recently arrived. Nurmagomedov’s lighthearted demeanor was on full display as he posted a hilarious video on Instagram.
In the Instagram video shared by Nurmagomedov, Abdelaziz was on a pool bed. Nurmagomedov and his teammates spontaneously began to pick the pool bed and threw it into the pool. Abdelaziz quickly reacted as he threw his mobile phone away seconds before he landed in the pool.
Despite the light-hearted moments, Nurmagomedov’s arrival would bring more seriousness to the fight camp. Belal Muhammad once stated that the Russian was like an army general in a training camp but also very generous to his teammates.

Even though fight fans saw the angriest version of Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, people close to him have stated that the Russian has a lovable, humorous side. As such, he commands respect from his peers, with Ben Askren even stating Conor McGregor envies his ex-opponent.
Nurmagomedov retired as the pound-for-pound king; the current one is Islam Makhachev, his protege. Similar to Nurmagomedov, Makhachev also has a lovable, humorous side. Even before he was champion, Makhachev had showcased his humor. He once suplexed Ali Abdelaziz into a swimming pool. More than the suplex, Nurmagomedov’s hilarious laughter was viral on social media.
Nonetheless, Makhachev has a laser focus when it’s time to fight. The lightweight champion is a betting favorite in his upcoming fight against Dustin Poirier. However, Paulo Costa is on the co-main event of the PPV against Sean Strickland. Every time Costa fought on the undercard of a PPV, the undisputed title changed hands in the main event.
If victorious against Poirier, Arman Tsarukyan is next for Makhachev. UFC 308 is at the Etihad Arena in UAE, and Makhachev will likely fight there. Makhachev had headlined the previous two PPV events at the venue, against Charles Oliveira at UFC 280 and Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 294.
