The San Antonio Spurs played against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. The Timberwolves won the game 114-105. Despite the loss, Spurs Victor Wembanyama went viral for a couple of reasons. The first overall pick is having a great first season.
The Spurs’ poor performance as a team did not keep Wembanyama from displaying his amazing talent. Besides being on the Rookie of the Year ladder, the player is breaking multiple records in rookie season. His dominance on both sides of the court remains truly remarkable. The player has averaged multiple blocks and steals per game. He has remained a defensive monster since entering the NBA.
But on Tuesday, the rookie went viral for his surprising offensive play. After dribbling the ball between the legs a few times, Wembanyama shot a step-back three-pointer. The play reminded fans of Stephen Curry as Wembanyama looked away as the ball went it.
In the loss, Wembanyama scored a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds with five assists in 34 minutes. He also had four blocks and two steals. The Spurs are currently the last team in the Western Conference rankings.

Last Friday, Wembanyama scored a 5×5 stat line against the Los Angeles Lakers. He scored 27 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, five blocks, and five steals. He also became the youngest player with the stat line. The Spurs rookie will continue to astonish the fans as long he remains injury-free.
