The Super Bowl LVIII saw a new set of fans cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Patrick Mahomes and company had a fantastic postseason, which culminated in a Super Bowl victory, their second in a row. However, the Chiefs Kingdom saw a surge of new fans, called ‘Swifties,’ as Taylor Swift was in attendance to cheer on her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

The game’s popularity received a massive boost this season, thanks to Swift and her huge fanbase. A lot of new fans, especially teenage girls, have tuned in to watch their favorite singer support her boyfriend throughout the campaign. The Chiefs did not disappoint, as they mounted a special Super Bowl defense and went on to repeat as champions.

The game itself was a fantastic one. Both the Chiefs and the Niners went at it and were dead even at the end of regulation. The 49ers chose to go on offense first in OT and got a field goal out of their drive. Kansas City needed a touchdown to win the game. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, including a family of grown men and young kids.

After a tense 75-yard drive, however, the Chiefs were Super Bowl champions, courtesy of a brilliant Patrick Mahomes–Mecole Hardman touchdown. The said family, in a video shared on TikTok by user id @badson21, was ecstatic as the men cried, while the young ones jumped up and down in celebration. It was a beautiful moment as an entire family erupted in collective joy.

The Chiefs ended up on the winning side again, with a score of 22-25. They have now established themselves as the NFL‘s next dynasty after winning three of the last five championships. Andy Reid and his men will now look to go three-for-three next year, a feat no team has managed to accomplish so far in league history.

What a difference a year makes! No to the Kansas City Chiefs, but to their supporters. Last year the Chiefs won the Super Bowl by three points against the Philadelphia Eagles. However, the family that celebrated the Chiefs latest Super Bowl victory had a very different look last year. Only the two men seemingly cared about the Chiefs winning the Super Bowl.

This year, though, the kids were there with him. All this can be attributed to Taylor Swift’s involvement in sport and the Chiefs. Her relationship with Travis Kelce has attracted a lot of new fans to the sport and the NFL has benefitted immensely from it. For a family in Kansas City, though, it meant that maybe for the first time ever, a father celebrated his favorite team’s championship win with his daughters.
