WATCH: George Russell takes a lie detector test, gives his honest take on Lewis Hamilton's GOAT status

The following paragraph provides an in-depth analysis of the impact of social media on the mental health of individuals. Social media has become an integral part of our lives, with millions of people using various platforms to connect, share, and express themselves. While these platforms have many benefits, they also have negative impacts on mental health, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. This article explores the different ways in which social media affects mental health and suggests ways to manage its negative impacts.

Lewis Hamilton is widely regarded as the best driver to ever grace the Formula One grid. His achievements are second to none, be it his 103 wins, 103 pole positions, or staggering 193 podium finishes. He is also a seven-time world champion, joint most at the top. His teammate, George Russell, took a lie detector test with Sky Sports, where the Briton was asked whether he thought Hamilton was the greatest ever.

He replied, “yes,” firmly and confidently, which the detector approved, indicating his strong belief. He was then asked whether he believes he is currently faster than his veteran compatriot, to which he responded, “Now, yes.” The 25-year-old is so confident in his ability that a lie detector test also deemed him to be telling the truth. He is undoubtedly certain that his pace is superior to the seasoned Lewis Hamilton.

George Russell will start just behind Hamilton in P4, in what could potentially be a wet race, paving the way for chaos. He drove mighty well last weekend in Spain, cutting through to the grid to finish P3 on the podium after starting in P12. He hopes to emulate some of that success in Montreal.

He will aspire for a performance just as positive, if not better, and aim to best Aston Martin to secure the podium again to keep his hot run of form going. He has had a tough season so far but will aim to use the next couple of races as a catalyst to secure strong results throughout the season.

The 2022 season saw young George Russell promoted to Mercedes after strong showings with backmarkers Williams. The Briton expected to enter a dominant car, but the reality was quite contrasting. Mercedes struggled with consistency throughout the season, as they were overshadowed by Ferrari and Red Bull.

Porpoising made a big dent in their garage, as neither Russell nor Hamilton found their W13 comfortable to drive. Regardless, he beat his counterpart that season. He earned a pole position and a maiden win, something Hamilton couldn’t accomplish throughout the year. Russell also displayed his adaptability and versatility and generally seemed quicker than Hamilton.

He ended the season with 275 points, 35 ahead of Hamilton with 240. To beat the likes of the experienced Briton as his teammate, especially in his first year. Hamilton was only ever bested once by his teammate at Mercedes, namely in 2016 by Nico Rosberg. Russell showed that he was worthy of the seat at the Silver Arrows, with plenty of latent potentials.

2023 has been a different story, however, where Russell has struggled to keep up with Hamilton. He has secured a single podium compared to Hamilton’s two and is currently 22 points behind him in the standings. He has shown that he can get the better of the seven-time world champion and will try to do so at the Canadian GP to gain momentum for the rest of the season.
