Well if you thought the NBA 2023 season collection of dramas ended with the Draymond Green saga or Ja Morant conundrum, this recent event has sparked an even bigger debate. A tedious situation to be precise; this has left the fans in a frenzied state, expressing their disappointment. The event? A controversial call that left New York Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau berzerk.
It all started when Jalen Brunson from the New York Knicks was penalized for a rather obscure foul in the dying minutes of the game. With just 0.3 seconds left on the clock, it was his attempt to block a 3-point attempt from Aaron Holiday from the Huston Rockets that led to the foul. The Knicks seized the opportunity to call for a timeout. However, the timer, which they believed had still some seconds left, was already out with the officials and announcer closing the game as the Knicks lost by a marginal 105-103.
Thibodeau was seen furious with the decision as he walked off the court, and it looked like no one even tried to acknowledge his argument. He tried to justify the anger in the post-game interview, claiming:
If you look at the film, you see it. It is what it is.
The clip since then has gone all over the internet, with everyone giving their opinions on it. Despite every attempt from the coach, there was no turning back. Whether the official was wrong in it or not, fans have definitely voiced their opinions on it.
