England captain Ben Stokes is trying new things on the cricket field and it seems luck has already chosen sides. Stokes’ latest on-field antics came when the England skipper set a strange field for Australia batter Usman Khawaja and the batter walked right into the trap.

Although Khawaja had spent a considerable amount of time on the field (batting on 141 and having played over 300 balls), he could not resist but succumb to this trap set by Stokes.

The strange field setup saw Stokes putting six fielders in six catching positions right in front of Khawaja’s eyes. Meanwhile, the bowler (Ollie Robinson) delivered a full ball into the stumps and Khawaja tried to beat those fielders by walking down the wicket but only to get yorked.

The ball sneaked under Khawaja’s bat and uprooted his off-pole. There was a loud cheer from around the stadium as Khawaja wore a bewildered look on his face.

Coming to the match, England look in full control of the game despite an interesting declaration from Ben Stokes, and it seems Bazball is working well for England, yet again. While the England skipper was criticized for his aggressive deceleration, the hosts managed a seven-run lead in their first innings.

Despite Usman Khawaja’s century, half-centuries from Alex Carey (66), Travis Head (50), and 38 runs each from Cameron Green and Pat Cummins, Australia were bundled out for 386 in reply to England’s 393/8 d.

For England, Stuart Broad and Ollie Robinson bagged three wickets each while comeback man Moeen Ali claimed two wickets. James Anderson and Ben Stokes also chipped in with a wicket each.
