Let’s be honest; if any team gets the opportunity to make a move for a player like Draymond Green, they would all take a shot at it. While he can get under the skin of opponents, he is the best teammate one can ask for. He plays with heart and passion every night and is always trying to make guys around him better whilst also holding them accountable when necessary.

Green was drafted 35th overall by the Golden State Warriors back in 2012 and has been with the team ever since. He is a 4-time NBA Champion, 4-time NBA All-Star, 2-time Olympic Gold medalist and the 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year. Along with being one of the smartest players in the league, he runs his own podcast called ‘The Draymond Green Show’, in which he gives fans amazing insights about the game.

It was reported that Draymond Green will be declining his $27.5 million player option and entering unrestricted free agency leaving many options open ahead of him. The most obvious choice will be re-signing with the Golden State Warriors, as Green has previously spoken about his love and admiration for the franchise. “I’ve told you guys for years, I want to be a Warrior for the rest of my life. I wanna ride out with the same dudes I rode in with,”  said Green after the Warriors lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round of the playoffs this year.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has always spoken very highly of Green and would love to see him back in Warriors colors to start the next season. Steve Kerr said, “If Draymond’s not back, we’re not a championship contender. We know that. He’s that important to winning, to who we are. I absolutely want him back.”

NBA Twitter thinks Draymond Green could be headed to the Lakers

1200x0 1James and Green share a moment during a game

The friendship that LeBron James and Draymond Green share is no secret. The two have fondly spoken about each other at every public forum despite the rivalry that has existed over the last decade between their respective teams.

Apart from sharing the same jersey number, James and Green are represented by the same sports agency as well – Klutch Sports. The two of them are High IQ basketball players that see the court like very few players in the NBA can and hence Green leaving the Warriors to team up with James could be a real possibility and could prove to be a tough cover for teams. It would also give Anthony Davis some much-needed defensive help in the paint.

With Green declining his player option, many fans on Twitter hinted at the fact that the forward wants to team up with James. Here are a few reactions to Green potentially leaving the Warriors:

There’s no denying that Green is a controversial figure in sports entertainment. He’s had his fair share of ups and downs with the team, including that famous argument with then-teammate Kevin Durant that eventually forced Durant to leave the Warriors. He even punched his own teammate Jordan Poole in practice.

So could the Warriors finally think of moving on from Draymond Green? Only time will tell.
