Varma is particularly intrigued by the trend of “color-blind casting,” which has proven beneficial to actors like Ishaan Khatter and Ali Fazal, who have landed significant projects in the West.
“With international producers and directors increasingly embracing Indian diaspora actors and artists of color for a myriad of roles, the landscape is incredibly promising,” Varma noted. Eager to seize the moment, the actor plans to dedicate the first half of 2025 to exploring compelling opportunities in Western cinema.
