Israel Adesanya Reacts To His Loss Against Dricus Du Plessis At UFC 305

UFC 305 did not turn out to be the way Israel Adesanya would have wanted. The former middleweight champion failed to capture his belt against champion Dricus Du Plessis. The ‘Last Stylebender’ was disappointed after the loss but as it turns out he wasn’t the only one who was affected.

As expected, high-profile fights like Adesanya vs. Du Plessis attract a lot of online bettings. Heading into UFC 305, Izzy was the betting favorite with -120. On the flip side, DDP was the underdog with +100. After the loss of Izzy, one of the fans shared a video of him losing $228K betting in favor of Adesanya. In the video, the fan looked devastated and was shouting in disbelief.

The individual can say that he wasn’t the only one who lost a big amount. He can put himself in the same group as Canadian rapper Drake who also bet for Adesanya. For Drake, the amount was double at $450K and it wasn’t even his first time. Drake is a huge fan of Izzy and has frequently placed bets on him.

However, in the last few fights, the returns were not great. Last time, Drake had lost $500K after Izzy was beaten by Sean Strickland. Given the current situation, it will be interesting to see if he or the fan would bet in favor of Izzy next time. Fortunately, the defeated former champion has not given up and is already planning his return.

Israel Adesanya talks about potential return after UFC 305 loss

After the loss at UFC 305, Israel Adesanya removed his gloves which prompted Dricus Du Plessis to give him a retirement speech. However, that wasn’t the case as Izzy removed his gloves because his hand was hurt. In reality, the fighter never had plans to retire and dropped Leonardo DiCaprio‘s iconic line, “I’m not f***** leaving.”

At UFC 305, Adesanya looked good and showed great striking. However, according to the fighter, his one mistake cost him. While reviewing the fight on his YouTube channel, Izzy mentioned that he’s feeling good and is ready to return.

Enjoy me while I’m here man. I watched the fight I’m like f*** I can go again…I still feel good, literally bro I could fight this weekend, but I’m like ‘eh’…I just wanna get back to the gym.

As usual, Izzy took the loss to the chin and acted positively after the fight. He even joked about making history by losing two fights in a row for the 1st time in his professional career. DDP’s head coach has talked about a potential rematch between the fights in Africa. If it happens, it would be another chance for Adesanya to get back his lost glory.
