Conor McGregorโ€™s friend and photographer, Dave Fogarty, recently suffered defeat after an impressive display in his first boxing match. Fogarty accompanies UFC icon McGregor globally to record the Irishmanโ€™s activities inside and outside the octagon. However, he traded his camera for a set of boxing gloves to face off against Deen The Great last night.

KSIโ€™s Misfits Boxingโ€™s pay-per-view event took place in Ireland at the 3Arena. Fogarty, in particular, attracted a substantial following to the renowned fight venue. His friendship with Conor McGregor stands out as one of the reasons for such followers. Fogarty stood up to everyoneโ€™s expectations and performed commendably before falling to the lightweight championโ€™s strength.

Fogarty, who had previously competed in MMA 12 times, was the underdog in the fight. However, he made a strong impression in the early minutes by putting pressure on Deen The Great. However, following the second round, McGregorโ€™s friend barely had a chance to show his boxing prowess.

The opponent dominated the third round and even managed to knock down Dave Fogarty with a right hand. Despite appearing to recover as the seconds ticked down, Fogarty was dropped again with three seconds remaining. This ultimately led to the referee calling off the bout.

Deen The Great, for his part, showcased immense technicality to defend his title. Moreover, following his victory, he even called out Shakur Stevenson and Ryan Garcia. Interestingly, McGregor has not yet reacted to his photographerโ€™s loss in his boxing debut.

Conor McGregor has been a long-standing friend of Dave Fogarty. The Notorious has often seen supporting his friends. As such, even his whole rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov started somewhat because of the bond the Irishman shared with his friends. Similarly, with Fogarty, McGregor backed him immensely in pursuing a career in boxing.

Following a loss in his boxing debut, the former MMA fighter, aged 34, was quite disappointed. In a post-fight exclusive interview, Fogarty was questioned about the next steps for him in boxing. He promptly mentioned that the Notorious would play a key role in defining that.

I’m probably going to head to the one and only Black Forge Inn. I have a few mates on my phone and I’ll go back and talk to Conor (McGregor) and see what he says. I’m sure he’ll have a bit of voice for me.
