VIDEO: Boston Celtics star Derrick White hit in head during brawl with fan at Colorado football game 

The NBA off-season keeps cooking up and this time it witnessed Boston Celtics shooting guard Derrick White get involved in a brawl while he attended a University of Colorado football game. White, a fan of his alma mater, went to watch the Buffaloes play against Colorado State when tensions rose and led to an altercation. 

Furthermore, according to a video shared by TMZ Sports, a fan struck Derrick White in the head, which sparked the incident. As told by witnesses, the brawl began during the second quarter when White exchanged words with opposing team fans. As the game progressed and the Buffaloes started to perform better, the verbal altercation escalated. 

Luckily, the altercation wasn’t life-threatening as fans nearby attempted to de-escalate the situation, as they tried to calm down the aggressor. White, who was visibly upset, also had to be restrained by surrounding fans as the situation grew more heated.

It got out of hand as law enforcement soon arrived at the scene, and the NBA winner was asked to leave the premises with no police report had been filed by either party involved in the incident. White, who is regarded as the ‘Mr. Nice’ of basketball will seek to put the matter behind him and focus on the task ahead of winning his second NBA title with the Celtics.

The Boston Celtics NBA and Olympic champion has a reputation that doesn’t involve him getting into trouble or physical confrontations. As such when video footage of him getting into one at a college football game surfaced, it led to fans reacting on social media about what most considered an anomaly. 

The footage posted by TMZ Sports at the time of this report had garnered enough traction with over 180k views. One user wrote on X about the incident: “Wtf do u have to say to make Derrick white want to fight you.”
