Victor Wembanyama came into the NBA with a glowing reputation and more than lived up to it. As a result, he has become one of the most buzz-generating players heading into the 2024-25 season. However, like most other basketball players this offseason, the young Frenchman has taken to vacationing.

In a video shared on Instagram recently, Wembanyama is spotted having a good time with friends while on vacation. On one slide, the San Antonio Spurs prodigy was seen going surfing with them. While on another slide, he could be seen playing soccer with his friends as they headed the ball towards each other. The moment was indeed a happy sight to behold as all present, demonstrated a deep bond of friendship.

The vacation represented a chance for Victor Wembanyama to refuel and prepare himself ahead of the new league season. Wemby, as heโ€™s fondly called, was one of the important players for France at the Paris Olympics. However, despite his best efforts, they succumbed to a defeat by the USA which left them with a silver medal.

During the 2024 Olympics, Victor Wembanyama certainly delivered to all extents. He was really great at scoring and also exceptional at defending against opponents. In the finals, Team France provided great support to the young rookie, but it wasnโ€™t enough to take down the USA.

With 26 points and seven rebounds in the gold medal game, the 20-year-old surpassed expectations. Indeed, it was a great debut for him on the world stage despite the final scoreline. It is also an experience he will look to build on, as he continues to steadily improve his game.

Nonetheless, Wemby has vowed to come back stronger from that defeat. His character will definitely be tested in the coming years, both in the league and FIBA competitions. Moreover, he would look to exact revenge on Team USA on their home soil during the Los Angeles Summer Games in 2028.
