Oumar Sy made his promotional debut with a rear naked choke submission of Tuco Tokkos at UFC Vegas 92. His UFC debut was not without any hiccups. He had missed weight in his first attempt but made it in his second attempt. Interestingly, there was a hilarious reason why he missed weight.
Sy had weighed 207.5lbs in his first attempt at his fight against Tokkos. However, Sy successfully weighed on the light heavyweight limit in his second attempt. Tokkos had weighed in at 205.5lbs. Sy revealed what went wrong in his first attempt at the post-fight press conference at UFC Vegas 92.
Actually, that was a mistake because when I got weighed in yesterday, I had my watch on, and my watch is 700 grams. So, that was part of the difference.

Sy made quick work of Tokkos in his UFC debut. It was only his tenth professional MMA fight that already boasts eight finishes, four each via submission and KO/TKO. The Frenchman had two opponent changes before he fought Tokkos. Rodolfo Bellato and Antonio Trocoli were the fighters who had to pull out of the fight.
French MMA has been growing exponentially since the nation lifted the ban on MMA. With Ciryl Gane and Benoit St-Denis in the UFC and Cedric Doumbe in the PFL, great things are in sight for French MMA. However, French Football recently met with bad news as superstar Kylian Mbappe announced he will leave PSG at the end of the season.
Oumar Sy speaks on Kylian Mbappe leaving Paris Saint-Germain
Kylian Mbappe rose to prominence with AS Monaco but became a worldwide sensation with Paris Saint-Germain. The 2018 World Cup winner recently announced he would leave the club, potentially for Real Madrid. Arsenal is also a possibility, though chances are slim.
Mbappe is also a massive MMA fan and has been at PFL events in Paris headlined by Cedric Doumbe. The French welterweight recently stated he was sad that Mbappe would leave the club. Even though he is French, Oumar Sy didnโt share the same sentiment when asked about it at the press conference.
I couldn’t care less, frankly, whether he [Kylian Mbappe] stays or goes. I don’t care.

Football or Soccer in the US is big in France. However, it seemed Sy was not a big fan of the sport. Nonetheless, several football players are big fans of MMA. In addition to Mbappe, several other PSG players have been at PFL events.
