Actor Rushad Rana, a familiar face from movies like Veer-Zaara, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and Mohabbatein, opened up about his time on set, sharing some heartwarming and amusing anecdotes. He fondly remembered a sweet moment with the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, during the filming of Veer-Zaara. Despite being in a supporting role in Mohabbatein, Shah Rukh Khan warmly recognized him, showcasing his incredible memory and kindness.
In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Rushad Rana delved into the delightful reunion with Shah Rukh Khan on the set of Veer-Zaara, evoking memories from their Mohabbatein days. He chuckled as he recounted the first day of shooting for Veer-Zaara, where Shah Rukh excitedly pointed him out to Aditya Chopra, mentioning their past connection from Mohabbatein. Rushad was pleasantly surprised by Shah Rukh’s gesture, stating, “He remembered me from Mohabbatein. I wasn’t even one of the main guys in Mohabbatein, yet he still remembered me.”
Even though Shah Rukh initially couldn’t recall Rushad’s name, the actor introduced himself, thrilled at the recognition. In a heartwarming twist, Shah Rukh affectionately decided to call him ‘partner’ instead of his real name. Rushad shared Shah Rukh Khan’s playful response, “He said, ‘Of course, I remember you. But I wonโt call you Rushad; I’ll call you partner.’ So, throughout the shooting of Veer-Zaara, Shah Rukh used to call me partner. What a man!”
The movie Mohabbatein, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan, introduced a talented ensemble cast of newcomers at the time, including Rushad Rana, Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj, and others.
On the work front, Rushad Rana recently appeared in Ulajh alongside Janhvi Kapoor, although the film didn’t quite hit the mark at the box office. Additionally, he made a special appearance on the popular TV show Anupamaa, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
