Mackenzie Dern, a UFC strawweight fighter, has recently made headlines due to an altercation involving her current husband and ex-husband. Last Friday in California, her husband, Antonio Trocoli, was arrested on misdemeanor battery charges. The incident took place in Huntington Beach, California.
It involved Mackenzie Dern’s current husband, Antonio Trocoli, and her ex-husband, Wesley Santos. According to the police report, the incident occurred on October 4. A few hours later, Trocoli was arrested for battery. Although the Huntington Beach Police Department hasn’t shared further details, Santos has sent a statement to MMA Fighting about the incident.
Currently, no official charges have been filed against Trocoli. Therefore, it is unclear what punishment the UFC fighter would face if convicted. Regarding Dern’s personal life, she is co-parenting her daughter, Moa, with her ex-husband Wesley Santos. The couple married each other in 2018. However, their marriage was short-lived due to complications, leading to their official divorce in 2023.

After that, Dern married fellow UFC fighter Antonio Trocoli. Interestingly, Trocoli has an intriguing story with the promotion. The UFC initially signed him but later released him due to positive PED test results. However, Trocoli made a comeback earlier this year and fought Shara Magomedov. Meanwhile, his wife, Mackenzie Dern, is reportedly set for another fight before the year ends.
When is Mackenzie Dern’s next fight?
Mackenzie Dern has had an impressive career, facing off against numerous tough opponents in the promotion. One of her most memorable victories was her impressive armbar submission win over Nina Nunes three years ago. However, her recent performance has raised concerns as she has only managed to secure one victory out of her last three fights.
In her most recent appearance, Dern secured a victory over Loopy Goodinez through a unanimous decision. Interestingly, per multiple sources, the Brazilian strawweight fighter may step into the octagon again before the year concludes. This potential bout would see her face off in a highly anticipated rematch against her compatriot, Amanda Ribas.

In their initial fight, Amanda Ribas comfortably dominated Mackenzie Dern and came out as a victor via unanimous decision. Dern would seemingly want to turn that and avenge her loss. However, the UFC hasn’t officially announced this fight yet. Despite that, the potential for this rematch is still exciting, as both fighters will be looking to regain their winning momentum.
