Previously, Conor McGregor had urged Dana White to announce December for his return fight. While White wasn’t that sure, he couldn’t completely shut down McGregor’s wishes. Sonnen in his recent YouTube video shared information he gathered via an inside source. The Hall of Famer believes the UFC wants the fight to take place at UFC 311 next year.

With all other months booked, December is the only option for this lightweight bout. Though Makhachev’s hand injury could derail the fight, it’s possible that this is the main reason the UFC doesn’t want McGregor in December.
