Many Irish were transported as indentured laborers to American and Caribbean colonies in the 17th century. Some of them went on to become slave masters. The Irish were not significant participants in the transatlantic slave trade. Rampage Jackson revealed his ancestors were treated as family by the Irish masters despite the negativity surrounding slavery.

In an interview with ESPN, Quinton Jackson dropped his ‘Rampage’ persona and went vulnerable, and revealed some tough decisions he made. According to the former UFC champion, with the MMA success, he went far from his family, ultimately losing them in the process.

I would have to honestly say that my biggest regret is even starting this sport. I think I would’ve lived a different life if I would’ve stayed home in Memphis and worked at the family business. I gained a lot of fans and made a lot of money but I feel like I lost my family.
