UFC 305 turned out to be a rather entertaining and successful pay-per-view card for the promotion. The main event fight saw Dricus Du Plessis defending his belt against Israel Adesanya via submission. Going into the fight, both fighters were indulged in a strong ethnic debate. Now, after the fight, UFC veterans Kamaru Usman and Henry Cejudo have carried on the discussion. 

The fundamental of the rivalry between Adesanya and Du Plessis was based on who was the ‘Real African’ among them. Adesanya had accused DDP of being ignorant and privileged to understand the struggles of black Africans all around the world. In a recent video, while reviewing the fight, Usman and Cejudo got into a heated debate about racism in America.

While answering the question, Cejudo who has Mexican heritage revealed that in America it doesn’t matter. However, it didn’t sit well with Usman who gave an example of the police interactions. According to Usman, people with different skin colors have already been treated differently in the US.

Usman was born in Nigeria and traveled to the US as a kid and did very well for himself and became a UFC world champion. However, according to the former champ, Du Plessis has been more careful with his words. This is because of the influence he has over millions of people. Nevertheless, while talking about the fight, both Usman and Cejudo were definitely on the same page.

Defending champion Dricus Du Plessis put on an absolute show at UFC 305. Despite his weird fighting style was able to go toe to toe and finish Israel Adesanya. According to heavyweight, Tom Aspinall, DDP systemically broke down Izzy’s game plan which was a testament to his fighting IQ.

While talking about the fight, Kamaru Usman mentioned how weird DDP’s striking was but in the end, it was effective. According to Usman, it’s high time that fans start to put some respect on Du Plessis’s name. Cejudo further detailed that DDP’s unique style and pressure were the main reason for his win.

That’s something that comes with Dricus that’s just different. He’s kinda like unstable, not necessarily a sniper. He’s just a goer.

With all the animosity before the fight, both Izzy and Du Plessis were extremely respectful towards each other after the fight. The champ also apologized to Adesanya’s parents for his remarks during the press conference. On top of it, DDP also got the opportunity to mock Drake who evidently lost $450K in betting against the South African.
