YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul and bare-knuckle star Mike Perry step into the boxing ring on July 20th. UFC legend Daniel Cormier will be among those eager to witness the fight. However, “DC’s” reasons for anticipating the unique crossover bout are about as contrasting as the two combatants themselves.
Cormier talked about this newly minted fight in his recent YouTube video. The UFC Hall of Famer revealed two reasons that made this fight a must-watch. Both reasons revolve around Mike Perry’s competence and style transition into boxing rather than see the progression of ‘The Problem Child.’

Mike Perry had a mediocre career in the UFC. He retired from the UFC in 2021 and joined BKFC. ‘Platinum’ found his true calling there and has amassed a 5-0 record since then. He has beaten former UFC fighters, including former UFC champions Eddie Alvarez and Luke Rockhold.
Jake Paul was initially slated to face the 57-year-old Mike Tyson on July 20th. However, Tyson’s health scare forced him to postpone the fight. Perry then replaced him. Daniel Cormier’s assessment of this potential fight showcased his willingness to see two fighters in their prime go at each other.

The former two-division UFC champ made a fair point. Throughout his highly successful BKFC career, Perry has consistently exhibited a genius-level propensity for sheer mayhem. That very unorthodox style could present a legitimate challenge for the more fundamentally-sound Paul.
