Jon Jones has been in the fight business for more than two decades and has achieved everything. From becoming the youngest-ever UFC champion to having the most number of title fights, his legacy has GOAT written all over it. His octagon success has brought immense wealth, shifting his focus from earning money to achieving greatness and securing his legacy.

At the age of 37, Jon Jones is currently the biggest pay-per-view star on the UFC roster. The recent financial success of UFC 309 is a testament to that. In a recent interview with a YouTuber, while driving a Buggati Chiron, Jones talked about how easy it is for him to earn money now.

I’m making really good money, doing really, really silly things, you know. Show up to a party for half an hour for a hundred thousand dollars, sign a few items for a hundred thousand dollars. I barely leave my house for less than a hundred thousand dollars these days. It just comes left and right, and I’m just grateful for

Although Jones previously clashed with the UFC over pay, things have changed for good. Now, the UFC champion enjoys financial security. He recalled UFC CEO Dana White’s assurance that he’d never have to worry about money promises that have since come true. ‘Bones’ is extremely popular and as a result, he has the leverage to take money for the time he gives.

UFC star talks about Jon Jones lobbying for more money from UFC

Jon Jones, in his last fight, defeated UFC heavyweight GOAT Stipe Miocic to defend the heavyweight title. Now, fans are eager to watch him fight the heavyweight interim champion Tom Aspinall for a title unification bout. However, Jones has been clear about his stance on not fighting Aspinall as it doesn’t benefit his legacy.

However, many experts believe that this is just a plan of Jones to get more money from the UFC. UFC light heavyweight title challenger Khalil Rountree recently talked about it in detail on a podcast. According to Rountree, Jones does have the upper hand in this negotiation with UFC.

As the champion, if you don’t get paid what you are requesting, what the hell? You have to have the champion to put on the fight. It’s between him and the UFC and getting the negotiation to where they can make it happen. But I think the UFC in a way may have to meet his number.

Rountree explained that UFC owes it to both Jones and Tom Aspinall to give the money and make the fight. Dana White has already given the green light for this and fans are excited too. It will be interesting to see how much money Jones would be able to get from UFC for this mega fight.
