On the recent episode of The BIG Podcast with Shaq, Shaquille O’Neal described when he first saw Halle Berry courtside and was so starstruck that he panicked and called timeout. The encounter quickly turned into one of many incidents when he was just too stunned to even say a word in front of her. He also described another incident when he shared an elevator with the “Catwoman” star.
As the elevator ascended, with each floor passed, Shaq’s anticipation grew, yet so did his inability to speak clearly. Before he could get anything apprehensible out of his mouth, Halle’s floor was there and she smiled before leaving the elevator. This cued soft jabs from his friend who was with him in the elevator at the time.
Shaq also recalled when he saw Halle Berry walk in during a game:
So I’m dribbling and I see her walk in. I call a timeout, I’m nervous my f*cking heart’s going tu-tuku-tu-tuku-tu-tu… I say “hey shut up man Halle Berry is here to see me play” so I was showing off but I never got to meet her.
According to Shaq, the moment he laid eyes on Halle, his heart skipped not just a beat but seemed to embark on a frenzied dance of its own. Despite his usual confidence, both on the court and off, Shaq found himself grappling with a sudden onset of nervous stuttering.
We going to a suite, Halle Berry gets in the elevator and my stuttering kicked all the way and I was like “kk-k-k-k-k-k-“… So we get to like the sixth floor she’s like “All right Shaq nice to see you” and she get off and Kenny start pointing at me “you stupid motherf**ker”.
Shaquille O’Neal hails from Newark in New Jersey and he claimed that he was smooth with women usually, but he still couldn’t get a single comprehensible word out in front of Halle Berry. In his defense, most people wouldn’t, she is pretty.

Yes you read the title right. 47 year old Vince Carter was inches away from slamming one down on 51 year old Shaq. This all went down during a cheeky bit on “Inside the NBA,” turning what could’ve been a regular segment into an epic blast from the past.

The whole stunt was a part of a fun segment where Carter was dunking on folks left and right with a mini hoop, sparking laughs and a good dose of nostalgia on the “Inside the NBA” set. Shaq, ever the sport, dodged in time, showing us he’s still got moves, even if the court’s now a studio.
