Oleksandr Usyk fought through a hellish barrage of body shots to attain the undisputed heavyweight championship crown. Defeating Tyson Fury at the “Ring Of Fire” DAZN pay-per-view, he is the four-belt era’s new undisputed champ. The Ukrainian’s performance drew a lot of praise, as did Fury’s. One name in particular who hails the Englishman’s mettle is Joe Rogan.

Tyson Fury (now 34-1-1, 24 KO) had much to live up to going into the boxing bout. During his previous non-title stint against Francis Ngannou, the boxer had wobbled hard. Fashioning a plump midriff, his effort was labored and slow. This time around, Fury excelled in a lot of rounds. Moreover, he survived a drastic right in Round 9. Joe Rogan cannot help but issue praises for ‘The Cat’ and ‘The Gypsy King.’

What a fight! Congratulations to Oleksandr Usyk for winning the Undisputed Heavyweight Championship of the world! And huge props to Tyson Fury for not just surviving the ninth round but coming back strong. No one recovers from being rocked like Fury. He’s truly got the heart of a champion. I can’t wait for the rematch!

This is the first since the turn of the millennium that the division unified prior to the recognition of the green-and-gold WBO strap. During the in-ring post-fight interviews, Frank Warren disclosed the contractual clause has a rematch stipulation. With Fury opinionating that the Russian-Ukraine war caused scoring bias, Oleksandr Usyk meets him for a contractually obligated second bout.

Concurrently, the veteran podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan supports such second-comings. Tyson Fury represents a different breed of heavyweight staple; highly intelligent and willing to take a beating only to later open up in mid and close range. Nobody quite rebounds from beatdowns the 35-year-old does. Hence, Rogan lauds him as the “heart of a true champion.“

Boxing Debunked! Fans note Oleksandr Usyk used an illegal inhaler, which turns out to be a cross

Fighting in Saudi Arabia, Oleksandr Usyk came out successful in his bid to be crowned the next undisputed heavyweight champion. Usyk, 22-0-0 (14 KOs), outpointed Tyson Fury to a close numbers game. He won the 12-round warfare via split decision (115-112 and 114-113; 114-113).

However, the opponent wasn’t without his merits. Answering the brevity, he conquered Rounds 2-3 early with spectacular head movement and dodges. While Usyk went blow-for-blow, Fury would cue in a big ranged shot once in a while.

Rounds five and six saw him perform similarly yet again, as did some others. He also delivered a roof-shattering uppercut midway through the sixth. Even Joe Rogan took to liking his output. Sports fans do not acclimate to their choice of fighter/player losing. This is why many fans said Oleksandr Usyk invoked an illegal inhaler while recovering in his corner.

Fortunately, saner heads prevailed, and a slowed-down footage showed him kissing his cross. While the whole discourse is evidently silly, it only goes to show the gravitas the result held. However, fortunately enough, not much can delegitimize Usyk’s legacy now.
