UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall isn’t shy about taking on big challenges. His latest target is the reigning light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira. Aspinall, known for his quick finishes and versatile skillset, has his eyes set on a potential super fight.

The British fighter is on a two-fight win streak. He recently expressed interest in welcoming Pereira to the heavyweight division. This came after Alex Pereira was open to moving up to heavyweight after his UFC 303 bout. Aspinall also indicated it depended on the UFC.

As we’ve seen with me, I’m not shying away from anybody. So, if the UFC wanna do that, I’m more than happy to do it…. I’m not jumping ahead of things right now, fighting Curtis Blaydes now, and if that’s what the UFC wants to do one day, then we’ll absolutely do it.

Pereira, a former kickboxing champion, has taken the MMA world by storm. He’s already captured titles in the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions in just two years. Tom Aspinall, ever the competitor, sees an opportunity to welcome one of UFC’s biggest stars to the heavyweight division.

As for now, Aspinall isn’t getting ahead of himself. He has a big fight at UFC 304 against Curtis Blaydes. He will defend his interim belt, which he won after knocking out Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295. This rematch is personal for Aspinall. Still, the allure of a potential Pereira matchup is hard to ignore.

UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall is gearing up for a high-stakes rematch. He’s set to face Curtis Blaydes at UFC 304 in Manchester, England. Their first encounter in 2022 ended in disaster for the British fighter. Just 15 seconds in, Aspinall suffered a torn MCL and meniscus, with damage to his ACL.

Now, he’s back with a vengeance and a bold prediction. Speaking with Prime Casino, the interim champion confidently stated that he would put his unfortunate loss behind him. He plans to finish the fight spectacularly, one worthy of a highlight reel.

It’s Heavyweight MMA and anything can happen, I feel like I always have to say that just to cover all aspects. However, I feel like this ends with an absolutely horrendous knockout and me being the winner. That’s how I definitely see it going.

The 31-year-old isn’t mincing words. He’s eager to rewrite the story of their first meeting. He was confident in his ability to finish Blaydes decisively this time around. Aspinall wants to prove he belongs at the top of the heavyweight division. He’s eyed a shot at undisputed champion Jon Jones for a long time.
