The Mortal Kombat franchise is expanding with the addition of the Mortal Kombat 1 Reboot. Developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros, this highly anticipated twelfth installment is set to release on September 19th.

Now, just two weeks before the release, the description of the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 Reboot has been updated on Steam, revealing that the game will feature Denuvo Anti-Tamper technology.

For starters, Denuvo Anti Tamper is an anti-tamper & anti-cheat tech that offers games not get pirated or be filled with exploiting cheats, though it is still a controversial issue in the gaming industry

The Mortal Kombat 1 reboot will be released on September 19th, but players who purchased the Premium Edition will be able to play it 5 days in advance, starting September 14th. Additionally, the Premium Edition includes extra benefits such as 1250 Dragon Krystals or the Kombat Pack.

NetherRealm Studios might follow the lead of the director of Tekken 8, who addressed concerns about Denuvo Anti-Tamper technology being mentioned on the gameโ€™s Steam page.

This wouldnโ€™t be the first time a game faced such a situation, as Tekken 8 previously encountered a similar issue where it was claimed to be a copy & paste of Tekken 7. Therefore, itโ€™s possible that NetherRealm Studios authorities will come forward to clarify the situation and alleviate any doubts.

Also, sometime back, a single-player mode named Invasion was leaked for Mortal Kombat 1 via a listing that a Brazilian retailer uploaded. The listing also reveals the back cover of the gameโ€™s physical copy.

Coming back to the Denuvo Anti-Tamper encryption software, it is clear why players hate it despite the software safeguards the games from getting cracked or pirated but in turn, all that encryption hurts the PC performance of the games even though the company says it does not affect

Furthermore, in 2020, a major concern about the Denuvo Anti-Tamper software occurred in terms of security as the DRM of the software was getting noted as Malware in Doom Eternal, which then raised questions about the companyโ€™s anti-tamper tech, and since then it has been on & off for the anti-tamper software.
