Victor Wembanyama, the rookie sensation, is having a season to remember for the San Antonio Spurs. His performances have turned out to be that bright light in the Spurs’ dark hour this season, defying all expectations set for a rookie.

The NBA can be a very tough league to navigate, as showed in his first few games, where he struggled for consistency and averaged 16.3 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks in his first month in the league. However, he has mastered the league since then and has seen him being compared to greats like Phoenix Suns’ Kevin Durant while earning his moniker, the “Alien.”

His stats as a rookie have been amazing, but one particular stat has stood out. In his last 20 games for the Spurs, he has shot 40% from beyond the arc. This feat is so remarkable that in the league since February 1st, only five players have had a better shooting stat (43% or better) from the three-point mark. With his defensive skills, as he’s leading the league in blocks and a strong contender for Defensive Player of the Year, and free throw shooting accuracy (80%), fans are loving what they’re seeing and as a 7-foot center there’s been calls for him to be more aggressive in the paint.

Wemby still has a lot to do if he is hoping to become the next face of the NBA or emulate the successes of other great players, past and present. As he struggled against the Houston Rockets, it shows that he still has a lot to learn and, with his willingness to learn, one would expect him to bounce back as fast as possible.

Victor Wembanyama’s performance in his rookie season has been nothing short of electrifying as his three-point stats throughout his last twenty games in the league has caused a stir on social media, especially the popular social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter).

Check out a couple of fans reactions:

Wemby this season is averaging 20.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. The sky is the limit for him if he keeps up with the impressive outings.
