“I’ve read two scripts and they’re absolutely insanely good. But that’s about all I can tell you,” Cash revealed. The announcement of Vought Rising, a prequel set in the 1950s focusing on Soldier Boy (played by Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront, was first made at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
Months ago, Cash took to Instagram to share her joy at the prequel news. She expressed her disbelief at the opportunity, calling it a dream come true to be part of such an incredible team. She teased fans with the promise of uncovering the origins of the enigmatic Stormfront.
Apart from Vought Rising, Prime Video is expanding The Boys franchise with The Boys: Mexico and Gen V season 2. Creator Eric Kripke is thrilled about these new narratives, emphasizing that while the main story of The Boys has concluded, there is still plenty of room for exploration.
Kripke explained that ending the series after five seasons was a deliberate choice to prevent it from becoming stale and repetitive. By following a five-act structure, the series is able to deliver closure while leaving viewers satisfied with the journey.
