It is fair to say that Stephen Curry has paid his dues and changed the way the game is played, and he is already planning for life after the beautiful game. The Baby Faced Assassin, like every successful person, wants to be proactive and he shared his plans while on a recent interview with CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street” on what he plans to once he says goodbye to the game.
Steph Curry sent shockwaves throughout the basketball world when he made an outrageous plan to own an NBA team upon retirement. This won’t be the first time he has delved into management, as he owns a media company as well as a golf tour organization.
For me, that’s definitely on the table. I think I could do a pretty good job of helping sustain how great the the NBA is right now and what it takes to run a championship organization.

It is believed that Curry’s interest in ownership was sparked by Michael Jordan‘s ownership of the Charlotte Hornets as well as the possibility of a future league expansion which was made known by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. Or maybe he’s motivated by the prospects of his longtime rival, LeBron James’ interest in team ownership.
Furthermore, he believes his experience with the Golden State Warriors has prepared him for ownership. Curry’s contract extension through 2027 will expire when he’s 39, and he’s determined to make the most of his remaining years focused on winning a fifth NBA championship.
Stephen Curry’s loyalty to the Warriors may be tested amid championship drought
It’s not a new story that Stephen Curry has consistently expressed his desire to spend his entire NBA career with the Golden State Warriors. However, with the team’s current roster, it’s uncertain if they can provide him with a championship-level supporting cast.
In order to put the rumors to rest, Curry made an appearance on the Today Show where he reaffirmed his plan to retire with the Warriors. Nevertheless, the team’s current state is far from championship contention and after missing the playoffs last season, the Warriors have made minimal offseason moves, especially after losing Klay Thompson.
I hope so for sure. I’ve been there, going into my 16th year. I’ve always said it’s a goal of mine to finish my career with that organization… I wanna keep winning, obviously, and I know we have hopefully some days ahead of still doing that.
