Recently, Nurmagomedov has seemingly criticized former bantamweight champion O’Malley. As such, he even berated the Montana native’s fight style.
In the last few months, Umar Nurmagomedov has engaged in heated altercations with the newly crowned bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili on various occasions. However, that wrath has shifted towards the former bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley. In a recent interview with Kevin Iole, the ‘Young Eagle’ has seemingly berated O’Malley’s lack of wrestling prowess.
Umar Nurmagomedov’s assessment comes after the recent championship fight between O’Malley and Dvalishvili. In that fight, the Georgian fighter dominated the Montana native with his exquisite wrestling prowess. O’Malley is not known for his wrestling or grappling, as the community often discusses his exceptional striking abilities. Similar to everyone, the Young Eagle also took a dig at O’Malley.

Interestingly, the unbeaten Dagestani fighter isn’t the only individual to have voiced concerns about Sean O’Malley’s skills on the ground. In response, O’Malley’s coach has indicated that they want to enhance that particular aspect of their performance. Concurrently, Umar Nurmagomedov has criticized the recently crowned bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili.

After Dvalishvili’s victory over O’Malley, Nurmagomedov’s desire to compete for the championship grew stronger. Consequently, he began actively challenging the newly crowned champion. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, the Young Eagle appeared to ridicule the Georgian champion. As such, Nurmagomedov stated that Dvalishvili is deliberately avoiding him.
Days after his victory, Dvalishvili publicly announced his willingness to face any opponent chosen by the promotion. Meanwhile, O’Malley has expressed interest in a rematch against the newly crowned champion. Now, it will be intriguing to see if Dana White and the team decide to arrange this fight.
