Love him or hate him, Stephen Curry has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He has made difficult choices on the court throughout his career, but when it came to choosing his โ€˜GOATโ€™ teammate, the decision wasnโ€™t easy. This moment occurred during his appearance on Complexโ€™s popular show โ€œGOAT Talk.โ€

Steph Curry read from prepared cards a couple of questions, one of which was to name the best teammate of his career. Having played alongside numerous basketball legends throughout his career, Curry hesitated before ultimately picking Klay Thompson as his choice.ย

GOAT team member. Thatโ€™s a dirty question. Well, I guess Iโ€™ll pick Klay Thompson.

Stephen Curry said on the Complex โ€˜GOAT Talkโ€™

Since being drafted by the Warriors in 2009, the Baby-Faced Assassin, Steph Curry, has won four NBA championships, all alongside his fellow Splash Brother, Klay Thompson. Their partnership extended beyond the basketball court, becoming one of the most iconic duos in the sport. However, that era has come to an end with Thompsonโ€™s recent move to the Dallas Mavericks.

Fans of the Bay Area team have finally woken up to the reality that Klay Thompson will be starting a new chapter in his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks. The move marked the first time he would play for a team other than the Golden State Warriors ever since he was selected with the 11th overall pick by the Dubs in 2011.ย

Curry spoke about the departure and what it meant to him and the Warriors when he was interviewed by Natasha Dye of People magazine. While he was honest about the negative impact, he emphasized that he is ready to prove doubters wrong that the Warriors are far gone.

I love the fact that people donโ€™t think we can keep the pace with some of the other teams that theyโ€™re picking in the West. And I just love that challenge of stepping into a training camp and being able to create your own success.

Stephen Curry said to Natasha Dye of People

Thompsonโ€™s departure left a sour taste on him and fans, as he said he felt disrespected about the way his contract situation was handled. He has found time to bond with his new teammates as well as get used to his new surroundings where he is raring to go once the new season starts as the Mavs are poised to match up their exploits of last season.ย
