James Harden has been one of the best scorers in the last decade of the NBA. Not many would associate his crafty and slithering play style with the sharpshooting of greats like Stephen Curry and Ray Allen. However, Harden has been among the most prolific shooters in NBA history with his high-volume distance shooting.
On Friday night, James Harden tied Ray Allen for the second in the most three-pointers made all-time list. Earlier this season, ESPNโs Shams Charania told Harden that he would only trail Stephen Curry in his shooting prowess after surpassing Allen. However, the Los Angeles Clippers star gave a cheeky reply to the ESPN insider.
Shams: โYouโre 34 three pointers away from being 2nd all-time.โ
Harden: โIโm gonna consider myself number 1, Steph [Curry] donโt count.โ

James Harden had a hilarious reason for excluding the Golden State Warriors star. The former MVP stated that believes that Curry is in a league of his own when it comes to discussions about shooting. With Curry out of the way, Harden believes that the number one spot on the all-time three-pointers made list belongs to him.
In a loss to the Houston Rockets, Harden scored 21 points while draining 3 three-pointers to tie with Ray Allenโs 2973 career three-pointers made. Of course, the leader on the list is Stephen Curry, who sits far and above everyone else. The four-time champion made 3782 made threes in his career and may surpass 4000 before he retires.
Stephen Curry takes back seat as Warriors move to 2-0 in NBA Cup
The Golden State Warriors are on an absolute roll to start this season. The team improved to 10-2 after securing a win versus the Memphis Grizzlies in their second match of the Emirates NBA Cup. The team is now 2-0 in the NBA Cup, with a win over the Mavericks earlier this week. However, the biggest takeaway from last nightโs game for the Warriors would be Stephen Curryโs usage.
Over the last few games, Curry had played a major role in helping the Warriors achieve victory with his clutch heroics. However, he played just 26 minutes against the Grizzlies, scoring 13 points on 3-7 shooting from downtown. He sat out the entire fourth quarter, with the Warriors young core taking over to close out the game.
The match was a blowout for most of the fourth quarter, although the Grizzlies scrapped to finish the game within 5 points of the Warriors. After their 123-118 victory, the Dubs will travel to the Intuit Dome, where James Harden will have the opportunity to join Curry atop the all-time three-pointers made leaderboard.
