LeBron James, the NBA icon and top player for the Los Angeles Lakers, was questioned about the league’s situation after the All-Star Game format was changed. James stated that change was both required and inevitable. Stephen Curry, his opponent, disagrees with him, though. For context, James spoke about how the 3-point shooting has changed the game lately.

James stated that the NBA has a ‘3-point shooting problem.’ However, the Golden State Warriors star man is not bothered by this. Steph Curry sat down with ESPN’s Malika Andrews and spoke about various topics in and around the NBA. Curry also responded to James’ comments about the 3-point shooting problem.

I mean, everybody has their opinion, It’s not like I can go out and do a 360 windmill and drive down the lane and dunk on somebody. So for me, I’m never going to fight 3-point shots. That’s just how I see the game. It’s how I’ve seen the game forever. But everybody has a different viewpoint and certain skill sets that have started to come into to the league.

Steph Curry told Malika Andrews

Curry, who is currently in his 16th year, is credited for transforming basketball in a league where 3-point shooting wasn’t given much thought before his debut. A Warriors dynasty and four NBA titles later, several teams are doing the same.

This season, the reigning champions, the Boston Celtics have averaged 50.4 3-point attempts per game. This is significantly more than the Houston Rockets’ 2018–19 NBA record of 45.4 attempts per game. This showcases that the league has tilted more towards the 3-point shooting in recent years of the sport, with Curry being at the helm.
