Brazilian star Caio Borralho outperformed Jared Cannonier at UFC Vegas 96 this weekend and emerged victorious. With this win, Borralho has taken massive steps in his route to UFC gold. A seven-fight winning streak could indicate inching closer to a title shot. Nevertheless, he seized the opportunity to call out the UFC middleweight champion, Dricus Du Plessis.

The battle between one of the most exciting middleweight prospects and a middleweight veteran resulted in a gruesome blood bath. However, Caio Borralho ultimately emerged victorious with a significant strike advantage of 153 to 83 over Cannonier. Following the impressive win, the Brazilian prepared a powerful message for the champion during his post-fight interview.

You know who I want next. I’ve been calling for it two times already. You already beat Sean [Strickland], you already beat Adesanya, you already beat all these guys so Dricus Du Plessis, get your a** over here or in South Africa, the Fighting Nerds are coming for you, boy.

Dricus Du Plessis recently defended his middleweight crown against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. Following that, DDP had several title challengers in mind that he would like to face next. Robert Whittaker and Sean Strickland stand out as two obvious options for the middleweight king. However, Du Plessis might also consider Caio Borralho, given his exceptional run in the division.

Interestingly, following Du Plessis’ victory at UFC 305, another top UFC fighter called him out. It was none other than former middleweight champ Alex Pereira. As of now, Dricus Du Plessis has several options at his disposal. Interestingly, an ex-UFC double champion feels that Borralho should look for other intriguing fights rather than fight the middleweight king now.

Henry Cejudo suggests Caio Borralho fight Israel Adesanya next

Caio Borralho’s undefeated record in the promotion has garnered everyone’s attention. A convincing victory against a veteran like Jared Cannonier has amplified it. This victory opens many opportunities for the Brazilian in the near future. Even though he wished to fight the middleweight champion next, a former UFC champion thinks he shouldn’t.

Henry Cejudo recently posted a video of him singing praises of Borralho. Not only that, but Cejudo also gave some fruitful suggestions on whom the Brazilian should clash against next. Per the former UFC double champ, Borralho is just one fight away from contesting for the title.

He’s a threat for anybody at 185 pounds. Obviously, I know that he just called out Dricus Du Plessis, but what’s next for him? I think he should fight Israel Adesanya next.

Cejudo proposed another path for Borralho to reach the UFC middleweight gold. The former UFC champion suggests the Brazilian can also take on the winner of Robert Whittaker vs. Khamzat Chimaev fight. However, how the UFC feels about that remains to be seen. Not only that, will Dricus Du Plessis respond to Caio Borralho’s remains the big question.
