Promotional head honcho Dana White looked visibly bothered at “old and slow” Colby Covington after his UFC 296 welterweight title loss. Knowing ‘Chaos,’ it would be natural for him to come out blasting with some unproportionate diss about anyone who criticized him. However, the 170lber had nothing but good things to say about White and head litigator UFC CBO Hunter Campbell.

The unapologetic “MAGA” patriot makes it a habit to go beyond personal bounds to sneer at criticism. Challenging Leon Edwards at UFC 296, he opted to diss the champion’s deceased father continually. He even doubled down on his hate for Edwards’ father’s alleged criminality despite his loss. Despite White’s comments, Covington only had nice things to say about the UFC CEO and UFC CBO.

He [Dana] is like one of the smartest people I’ve ever met in my life, he’s just he’s so intelligent…the way his brain thinks… I mean the guy is just such a business-minded guy and he’s just trying to find the next edge and the next business he can build up…so you know he just started his new league the ‘Power Slap’ and now that’s like one of the most viral things on the internet…he build that. Him and Hunter Campbell…

With transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney’s extended association with Bud Light, UFC’s $100 million sponsorship deal caught much flak. As ESPN MMA‘s Marc Raimondi nudged, Anheuser-Busch‘s 2019 sponsorship deal overtook Modelo to become UFC’s sponsored beer brand yet again. Despite standing by this decision, this is the only avenue Covington doesn’t agree on. Otherwise, he’s all praises for his boss.

Colby Covington also praised Hunter Campbell and Dana White’s “Power Slap” venture – the world’s premier slap-fighting organization. Under the sanctions of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, it already boasts monumental online streaming and viewership records. He credits White & Co. for the premier striking sports reaching such popularity. Consequently, it was not the first time he praised Campbell.

Welterweight Colby Covington recently had a sitdown with the twin hosts of the “Twins Pod” Podcast (@hodgetwins). There are podcasters and talk show hosts like the whole of NELK Boys, Bob Menery (“Full Send” Podcast), or Theo Von, who has had a close acquaintance with the UFC CEO. However, the twins had never personally met Dana White. At their behest, ‘Chaos’ reiterated the genius business acumen behind the Power Slap.

Despite NSAC Chairman Stephen Cloobeck’s reluctance, White’s Power Slap had greater and more viral drawing-in metrics than the NFL, NBA, NHL, F1, and WWE. Covington’s praise, hence, is not far-fetched. Hunter Campbell is a key player in all the UFC’s business dealings. Other than legal counsel, he is now UFC’s CBO since 2019. After UFC 272, Covington revealed valuable advice to take out the middlemen during negotiation.

I just saw that the managers are middlemen… they don’t really do anything, they’re not going [to go] out there to fight. So, why am I going to pay a lot of money to a manager when they do nothing. I would rather take destiny in my own hands and go talk to Dana and Hunter Campbell is the guy I talk to a lot… that guy is the fu*king G.O.A.T. He’s a beauty… I love that guy.

The fighter is infamous for his prime unhinged disses, outspoken nature, and raw shenanigans, which are away from the scope of fighting. However, planning the trajectory of his pro-MMA tenure, the fighter reels in and veers towards the best. After his UFC 272 grudge match, he was engaged in a misdemeanor battery case in Miami-Dade County against Jorge Masvidal. Instead of an inexperienced manager repping him, he wanted Campbell’s advice.
